You’re Invited: Solo Show Closing Artist Talk

First, I would like to thank you for your support in my first-ever solo show. I was pretty amazed by the opening reception welcome. What a surreal night. I was overwhelmed by love– and especially by those of you who shared more specifically with me how the different artworks resonated with you. Thank you.

You are invited back! This time— for a closing talk with me, facilitated by my friend and fellow artist, Claire Pongonis, where I will share about my inspiration and process, and answer your questions about my work. You can expect to grab a drink, ask questions, and enjoy my paintings in person one last time before the show ends January 31. As a reminder, all paintings are for sale, unless marked sold.

I have been making art professionally for six years now, but I AM CHILD, I AM MOTHER feels like just the beginning. Thank you for being here and for supporting my work in art to honor wholeness, which has been my desire from the very beginning.

You can be on the lookout for more soon, including—

a workshop in March at Crystal Bridges called “Let’s Get Abstract” where my Soma-Line method will be introduced with acrylic on raw canvas (as opposed to my usual workshop materials of watercolor on paper), and I promise, if you’ve wanted to experience Soma-Line in person, this workshop will be the most true to my original method, and the one used in the paintings you see on display at “I AM CHILD, I AM MOTHER”. Thrilled to collaborate with Crystal Bridges again, and excited to see where it takes us…

Lastly, I hope you have no reason be at Arkansas Children’s Northwest hospital, but if you do: I will be installing a Soma-Line Painting Window Mural in the cafe area: “Your Breath as Line and Color”. It will be a visual labor of love from the last three months of my work in the hospital with the kids, caregivers, and hospital staff. Participants were invited to contribute a copy of their Soma-Lines for my window design. If you find yourself in the cafe area at ACNW, those color and lines were deigned by yours truly, as well as dozens and dozens of incredible humans– some who find themselves fighting for life— others who welcomed the creative relief art brought them during a trying time or celebratory moment. Either way, I am honored to share Your Breath as Line and Color at Arkansas Children’s Northwest as an art-piece from my heart.

I am about to put my youngest two boys to bed, Praise God, otherwise, I would write more.
